Pros

Good employee compensation and benefits. Collaborative and enjoyable work environment with passionate team members. Great and kind leadership and culture. Been here for many years and in different roles, most of my line managers have been great bosses and I'd be happy to work in their teams any day.

Cons

Workload can get intense, depending on your role & stage of project cycle. Limited career progression opportunities internally, especially from assistant managers to managers... you'll have a higher chance if you have a strong sponsor (be it your mentor or line manager) to back you. I've also seen external hires getting hired for these roles instead of promoting from within, even though there is also a pool of qualified internal candidates who are waiting to get promoted. Granted, the learning curve may be less steep if you hire someone who is already at a managerial level from external, but I wish more commitment could be taken to groom internal talent and give more progression opportunities.

Pros

Working at Unilever in Raeford offers strong overall benefits, including good pay for the area, solid health insurance, retirement options, and additional perks like tuition assistance and employee discounts. The company provides a stable work environment as a large global organization, with opportunities for career growth and skill development in a modern, well-maintained facility. Employees often highlight the team-oriented culture, supportive coworkers, and clean, safety-focused workplace. Overall, it’s considered a reliable employer with good work-life balance and long-term career potential.

Cons

Working there can involve long hours and rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, which can make work-life balance harder depending on your role. The job can also be physically demanding, especially in production or warehouse positions, requiring standing for long periods and repetitive tasks. Because it’s a large corporation, there can be strict policies, less flexibility, and slower decision-making. Additionally, while growth opportunities exist, advancement can sometimes feel competitive or slow without the right connections or timing.

Pros

Great people, strong brands, and a lot of ownership. I’ve had opportunities to manage large spend portfolios, lead cross-functional projects, and work with teams across Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and R&D. The company invests in development and provides exposure to senior leadership that can help accelerate your career.

Cons

Performance and rewards don’t always feel aligned. High performers can sometimes feel underappreciated, and career advancement can be slower than expected due to organizational complexity and internal politics. Decision-making can also take longer than it should because of the number of stakeholders involved.
