Pros

You work in a beautiful, historical mansion.

Cons

I was quite literally emotionally/psychologically abused here. I still have nightmares about this place. As others have said, the CEO will ask about your religious beliefs in the interview. He also asked if/when I planned to have children. I look back and cannot understand why I didn’t speak up in that interview, but I realize it’s the smooth talking, the big promises, and the external appeal of the place that mystifies you to not think for yourself or ask questions. Once you do, you are belittled, isolated, then unceremoniously kicked out. This job had such an impact on my self esteem and my self identify that it has taken years to build myself back up again. I’m writing this now because I constantly see/hear of job postings and I want to warn others to steer clear. There are plenty of other opportunities in the area.

We appreciate you taking the time to write about your experience at Unbridled and are very sorry that it wasn’t reflective of our values. If the intention of your interview with our President was misunderstood we apologize. By that point in our process, we have fully vetted candidate’s skills and experience, and only those most likely to be hired advance to an interview with him. He has a unique way of communicating with people but he is always coming from a good place, encouraging people to open up and be vulnerable so he can really get to know them. We are aware of our legal responsibilities, any information that may be shared from a personal perspective is kept private to that conversation and is not used in our hiring decision. In fact, we hire 99% of the candidates who make it to that final interview. We have had a company advocate program in place since 2013 that we have found to be a great way for new hires to have someone they are connected to beyond their manager. Advocates are there to hear concerns and help navigate difficult situations, as we know those can’t always be avoided. We also have an open-door policy and encourage our team to take advantage of that at any time. In regard to your comment about our philanthropic endeavors, the money that employees donate (voluntarily) goes directly to our Response Fund. This fund is matched by UnbridledACTS dollar for dollar, and that money goes directly to people in need. That fund has helped people in devastating situations find hope and help. One example is of a family who lost their home to a wildfire. They lost everything and we were able to issue a grant immediately so they could buy basic necessities like food, diapers for their baby, and clothing. That money helped them get through several weeks while they waited for money from their insurance company. And even with the devastating impact on live events in 2020, UnbridledACTS funded $200,000 to a separate response fund directed to people in our industry who lost their jobs. The recipients of Response Fund grants are often times nominated by our team members and we are incredibly proud of this part of our culture. We hope you can understand that as a growing company we are not perfect but we always hope to learn from difficult situations and then make changes to ensure that all our employees have the resources they need to be successful.

Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad to hear you’ve had a positive experience with the people, culture, and benefits—it’s great to know those aspects are making an impact. We hear you on the parking situation at our main location in Denver parking is limited around our building. However, we hope that providing parking spaces across the street in the lot and offering reimbursement for parking if you are unable to find a space in either location helps reduce the burden at no cost. Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback!

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to cut your teeth, or learn the industry. If you're white, christian, and conservative, you'll fit in.

Cons

No workload metric was tracked by management. 60hr+ weeks were the norm. Management took no actions to hire, while continuing to accept additional business at significant cost to employees' health and wellbeing. Lost all respect for CEO when he flew his family commercially from Florida to Colorado after having ALL tested positive for COVID the previous day. This was December 2020, and Stan still expected his employees to brave the travel corridor despite personally making travel more dangerous. Employees taking recommended steps to protect themselves from COVID were regularly ridiculed by peers and management. Many senior management refused vaccination. Management brings favorite employees in as partners in the business, then claws back shares if/when the employee leaves.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Unbridled left you feeling this way. The events of 2020 were filled with uncertainty and complexity for every organization, but we stand by the decisions we made with the best intentions at the time. We were navigating a period that required balancing business realities with personal concerns. Each day brought a new challenge, and while not everyone agreed with every decision, we’re proud of the outcomes: we retained over 80% of our team, developed a new service offering to meet evolving client needs, and donated over $200K to support others in our industry who were in need. We acknowledge that experiences varied, but overall, we’re proud of how we guided Unbridled through that time and the steps we took to care for our team. We take concerns around inclusion, workload, and transparency seriously. Your feedback reminds us how important it is to continue evolving. We remain committed to building a company culture that reflects shared values, regardless of background or belief. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
