Pros

Paid very well for the job that you do. It is hourly+commission which is uncapped on earnings. Medical, dental, vision insurance is very good as well. You'll get personal days, vacation, sick all separate so plenty of time. If you're lucky, you'll be part of a great team that makes going to work somewhat enjoyable. Company does listen to associates and their feedback in order to try to better the environment. Most times these changes are slow to come. Thankfully i have a great store and sales manager ay my location which makes all the difference in this job.

Cons

I've been with the company 8+ years. There are good managers and bad. Hopefully you can get a good one or at least fair. The duties you have as a sales associate makes it to where you have to be able to multitask perfectly without fail. If you have a bad manager this will make your life terrible at work. They review your interactions with customers and go over what they saw and how to make it better. In a good managers hands this is a constructive tool to help you sell more, in a bad one its a checklist that goes against you. As a sales associate you will not only take customers who walk in and call, you'll be assigned calls to make to current customers to add additional services, you'll take on an extra role (such as apple master or samsung advocate if assigned), meetings are every friday, you will follow up with current customers (new and upgrading) 4 times after the interaction (these are all scheduled through a program), take additional training for new devices and redo compliance trainings every year. There is a lack of communication between departments (ie retail and agent stores, tech, customer service) on what processes are and can result in tech saying to go into a store to get something done that we can't or have no access to. Retail hours are terrible however a good store manager will mitigate long stretches of days worked. If a store is short staffed, it hard to take personal time that is accrued. Quotas raise every year (like with most sales environments). They are given a certain quota per territory and divided between the stores, busier ones getting more of the quota than slower ones. This normally works fine however this past 1st quarter quota was very high for all of the stores and did not get attained by any sales associate. When this happens sometimes the company retroactively reduces quota based on market sales, sometimes they don't. Your commission structure changes and you have to at least reach 60% of your quota or you dont get paid. This is a very stressful sales job. Like I said earlier, a good manager will be able to help lessen this. Just know if you get hired with this company you will have to put in long hours and a lot of effort to meet their requirements and quotas. If you go into retail sales I cannot stress enough that you have to be excellent at multitasking or you will have a very hard time.
