Low pay, overworked because understaffed, and hard to get promoted - Corporate Planning Associate UCPB General Insurance Employee Review

Pros

There's Leadership Acceleration Program (LEAP) for high-potential employees, but the same program causes feud between colleagues, especially if not all members in a team gets considered. The LEAP also becomes an excuse for senior managers to pawn off work to LEAP trainees, and to not mentor them.

Cons

Low pay, overworked because understaffed, and takes years to get promoted to next rank, usually they just add a number to your position then add a few hundreds to your salary so it feels like a fake promotion

Pros

About 70% of the Management are all attorneys who just started last 2020 with practically zero knowledge or experience in the insurance industry. This means they have a very fresh perspective on insurance so they rely on the subject matter experts and drive new innovations. Benefits are very good and competitive. HMO, medical allowance, clothing allowance, Christmas gift baskets/cash, loans and up to 14th month bonus guaranteed.

Cons

Department roles are blurred and often you will have to do things that don't seem to be part of your roles and responsibilities. They are a super traditional corporate company so things like the school you came from are really important to them which stunts the growth of other potential employees who have the proven skillsets.
