Pros

None that I can think of. Job security for those willing to stay in their position.

Cons

Low pay. Only HR can disclose pay ranges and that is not disclosed by management. This makes job hunting nearly impossible since the pay is guarded like a trade secret. Doctors call all the shots, regardless of HR And or management. HR is only there to back up the revenue producers, which are the doctors. Doctors get paid by the codes they use, and revenue is incentivized by the use of codes. Bonuses are paid by the use of codes, making treatment a numbers game, taking away from the authenticity of patient care. UCHealth has become a corporate machine, based solely off of metrics. If you want to truly contribute to the care process this is not the place for you. As an employee, I often wonder how the hypocritical oath can even be applied to a pure money machine such as this. Glass ceiling institution.

Pros

High Acuity patients Maintain Skillset Job security

Cons

Too many patients in a day and not enough time to spend with them. Minimal admin time to manage InBasket and patient needs. Frequently need to juggle a full and complex patient schedule with urgent test results and care coordination. Have to use personal PTO to cover holidays and any time the clinic is closed due to circumstances outside of our control. (weather, power outages, etc) Annual performance Bonuses are now being determined by online patient feedback scores.
