Pros

When I started this profession, I was 85 kilos. Being a referee showed me how important physique and posture are. In this way, I lost 26 kilos with the added benefit of the nutrition and dietetics department I studied. Now I am happier and more confident. Refereeing has taught me to be a leader, to make the right decision, to be attentive and organized. It is a profession group that is really given importance and thought about in Turkey. You have to be fully focused and athletic enough at all times during the match.

Cons

The only thing missing from my point of view is that I can't spare time for my social life because I run this business together with the school. Because the internship period at school is too long and when I leave there and go to the match, there is only time for myself to rest. Most of it is in preparation for the next day.

Pros

Exciting work, especially if you have an interest in basketball. Combined the established responsibilities of more conventional sports organizations with international aspects. Great manager. Diverse work (journalism, marketing, public relations)

Cons

Management sometimes was slow to direct workflow. More minute issues: Turkish culture provides constant smoke breaks. It's slightly aggravating to have to continuously look for colleagues when I need to speak with them. The food is subpar, and the office on the outskirts of Istanbul with virtually no eating options within walking distance.
