Pros

TrustLayer delivers a dynamic, fast-paced work environment within the insurtech sector, leveraging AI and automation to advance compliance and risk management. While some employees focus on impactful projects that enhance the product’s ability to simplify complex processes, others concentrate on refining the user experience without adding new features.

Cons

A significant issue at TrustLayer is the shift to relying solely on contractors rather than full-time employees, which has led to a lack of stability and job security. The advertised unlimited PTO is misleading, as many find themselves overextended, often working outside of their regular hours due to high demands. Additionally, the company’s processes are constantly changing, making it difficult for individuals to achieve personal growth. This constant flux has shifted the focus away from the quality of the product and code, placing a disproportionate emphasis on quantitative performance metrics, which has negatively impacted both the work environment and the integrity of the product.

Pros

health insurance is decent - dental and vision

Cons

Throughout my time with the TrustLayer, persistent obstacles stemmed from a noticeable disconnection within the leadership team. The absence of a cohesive strategic vision led to a lack of clarity, introducing an excess of new ideas and solutions that hindered our ability to navigate the dynamic insurtech landscape. These structural challenges manifest both internally and externally, affecting our relationships with customers and impacting the company's growth trajectory and competitive standing. Notably, a lack of grounding for scalability, coupled with internal politics and excessive interference, contributed to an environment where people talked over one another.
