Pros
Some really smart people work here. Nice to come to work and not have your average idiot that took aa few math/science/engineering classes in college and thinks they know it all.
Cons
Company has trouble discerning difference between people who have functional knowledge, and those full of triva or useless information. Company doesn't understand ROI. After spending several years and millions of dollars on personnel that don't yield sales of product or business, the solution is to change the titles? The definition of instanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Favoritism and nepotism overule most business decisions. Shoot the messenger methodology often used when problems identified. Corporate culture among engineers good - but they tolerate very rude, unprofessional behavior from some executives. With the really smart there are some really weird - so at times there can be some awkward interactions in the common areas. Telecommuting was a nice benefit, but that is being eliminated.
