Good benefits but management is overly controlling - Senior Software Engineer Trident Systems Employee Review

Trident is a strong company creating transformative technologies. I have had the opportunity to grow and try many different aspects of my job over my time at Trident through strong mentoring and guidance from my management. Since the acquisition by LightRidge Solutions, we have been afforded even more opportunities to grow and work alongside our sister companies. Employees have greater insight into job growth and opportunities as the company has grown. Trident is a great place for engineers looking to prove their skill sets and climb the ladder quickly.

As Trident has grown, more engineers have joined who do not understand the vision/mission for the company, and act like it's something it isn't (a place to focus on themselves, a place where they are entitled to promotions without being better than their peers, a place where they make the business decisions for the company). This makes it hard for those of us working to build strong technological foundations that can transform our industry.

The employees are generally competent and friendly. The pay is decent for the area with options for hybrid or remote work. Designing for space flight is an interesting challenge.

Leadership since purchase by private equity in 2023 has been poor and struggling to execute the visions they present in all hands meetings. The C suite seems mostly interested in big goals and forgets that small steps still have to happen to achieve anything. This manifests mostly as chaotic program direction and unrealistic contract timelines.
