Pros

Get placed onto projects that go live within weeks of working there. Get to work on short projects that take a few months to develop. Getting to work with Python and Django. Pays really well.

Cons

The projects are the same. Not an agile environment: undocumented code, no unit testing on the front-end at all, expecting QA to catch all bugs instead of preventing bugs, no consistent release schedule. Overtime happens way too frequently and estimates are ignored or are aren't trusted by managers. There is no consistent coding style and the excuse offered is that each project is different. Constant interruptions and noise level is usually high. Account managers, project managers are sitting near developers which breaks their concentration and has probably caused a lot of bugs. Headphones are a *must*. More interested in warming a chair than in producing good code. Problems and technical issues are swept under the rug and hidden as much as possible. Development occurs in silos. There are no constant teams, you don't know who you'll be working with on the next project. Project managers play favourites and developers are assigned only to things that they've already done. There is no room for growth or learning. They mess around with contracts; some developers were contract-to-hire past the typical 3-month period. No one has been promoted unless promotion means more work without a title change or salary increase.
