Pros

After a year or two, the possibility exists to work remotely. There once were company events such as golf outings, holiday get-togethers and picnics, i.e. Oktoberfest, No more. A company reward consists of a cold cut luncheon.

Cons

Transamerica has instituted a Future Fit policy which is nothing more than "Save Money at the expense of Employees" policy. This is another year in a series of year in which salaries were not increased and bonuses not handed out. Promotions are non-existent and the work load has increased to the point where 60 hour weeks are typical. Morale is low, however company expectations are very high. If you are in the market for a fulfilling and rewarding career, you can do much better elsewhere. Do yourself a favor. Skip Transamerica.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We do have company events that go on at various locations such as a golf outings, employee appreciation days, children’s holiday party, to name a few. I’m glad you mentioned Future Fit. Future Fit is a new mindset – Acting As One, being Agile, Accountable, and Customer Centric. This is how we as an organization want to be at the center of everything we do. It is not necessarily about saving money, but improving our ability to serve our customers while keeping pace in a fast changing industry.

Pros

great account management team. Great bosses. pension. decent benefits. managers allow flexibility.

Cons

the account managers are the only ones held accountable. other departments don't answer emails for weeks, don't do their jobs and no one in upper management cares. directly effects account managers so you get yelled at by clients and brokers a lot. don't get paid enough to do the job of the account manager and take on the other departments work.
