Pros
Trade Me's really changed in the last years. It used to be focused on delivery too much and worked in silos, but now there's a good mix of focusing on the long haul and getting things done. They've started putting a lot of effort into fixing technical debt and are quite open to new ideas – if you can make a good case for them. Also, there are quite a few interesting tech challenges to tackle, and it feels like most people are interested to do a good work. Plus, they're very respectful of your personal time, and the vibe day-to-day is generally good.
Cons
Sometimes the managers are almost too nice. It can mean that people who aren't doing great can kind of slide under the radar without getting the nudge they need to get better. The company is bad at handling direct communication. Also, except for the CTO, most of the management isn't really technical. They tend to pass a lot of decisions down the line, which can pile on the pressure and leave people feeling a bit lost if you're not sure how to deal with it.
