Pros
I love my job and what I do. It's fun, there is room for growth, and I have been able to connect with so many amazing people. I've been able to grow with the company, and I feel like they've appreciated my potential. Benefits are decent. PTO is decent. Torrid has been the best job I've ever had, but it's still not perfect.
Cons
I feel overwhelmed on an almost daily basis. We have too much on our plates, and not enough time or support. We have 50+ boxes of freight a week, and get little to no additional payroll to execute tasks or move product to the floor. We are expected to put the customer first, as it should be, but we are also expected to maintain a visually perfect store, and it's very hard to manage both when you're running with a skeleton crew. Sales plans have increased exponentially so there are very few stores getting monthly or quarterly bonuses, even though we are making more than we did the previous year. I don't feel we are compensated well enough for the amount of work we are expected to do, and they just keep adding additional tasks every year. A store manager is expected to delegate and ensure everything is done properly and timely, but without the proper payroll, the SM ends up doing too much and eventually the results reflect that. We are the cream of the crop in our store but we are spread too thin.
