      Pros

      Promotes from within and allows employees the freedom to be creative thinkers in an effort to grow the business and themselves.

      Cons

      The culture at this company was disgustingly broken and corrupt. Middle management was running wild and upper management consistently looked the other way and ignored problems. If you try and take your woes to HR prepare for a downpour hellfire to rain on your head and absolutely NOTHING to get solved.

      Pros

      I was hired on after my manager was fired, so I didn't have a direct person to report to. I was enabled to make decisions based on my skills and experience.

      Cons

      My decisions were always vetoed by management, so not a lot of work got done. There is definitely a cultural barrier, and that impacted operations.
