Pros

Almost none now that compensation has been reduced drastically. Work life balance is non-existent, processes are horrible and providing any feedback is seen as complaining.

Cons

The company is in total disarray and is heading in a very bad direction. Compensation for all AE's was reduced by $40k at the beginning of the year and sold to us as giving us "opportunity to focus on core work". In addition to reducing compensation, Toast has also added AE's which is decreasing territory size leading to additional compensation reduction. If that was not enough, the disorganization is starting to spiral. The sales team is responsible for almost everything in the SMB world, and any type of feedback presented is seen as complaining. On top of that, promotional opportunities don't exist. They have changed policies and a title "increase" has to validated by achieving the next level quota for 2 months in a row prior to accepting the position. Ie, to go from Account Executive to Senior, you have to hit a certain ACV number AND hit the new quota level for 2 months prior to a promotion. See above for territory reduction....

Pros

-Strong pay (if you hit your numbers) -Ambitious goals that challenge you -Competitive landscape that will force you to get better beyond exclusively selling -Founders still very involved and very visible to the company and employees -Team cultures are always strong -For sales, you always get in touch with prospects, which is an underrated pro -When leadership promotes internal mobility and career development they mean it and support it

Cons

-Numerous Sales teams that share the same markets/TAMs. Customers and prospects get exhausted of outreach - Since going public, the goal posts keep moving forward even if 60% of the org hit goal. -A number of core leaders have left, new ones still learning the ropes which was hindering the orgs and teams
