Pros
It is a large and well known company to work for and provides unique experiences and insight into how large corporations operate. You get good training that will translate well in the business world and have a respected company to put on your resume. They provide good health benefits. You can learn a lot if you work under the right people (however these people are few and far between.)
Cons
There is little to no beneficial communication from management, which also does not offer the support and knowledge needed to manage those under them. They underpay their employees, especially those who consistently earn top reviews and are the top performers (on the corporate side,) which means you will make out the same as someone else who is doing 70% less than work than you but might be making more. After you realize this, you also understand there is no incentive for you to continue to work as hard because you will only get paid lip service regardless. So the message I get it, is do enough or just over enough to meet expectations, there is no need to exceed them. Middle management usually doesn't have an understanding of their job so they tend to micro manage to look busy, and I have yet to find someone who I felt contributed to the objectives we work to obtain. Overall, the corporate culture is unwilling to employ more efficient ways of contributing to the bottom line. There are too many "rules" and procedures to overcome to successfully adapt to changing environments (not effective at using or understanding technology that would benefit the company overall.)
