Pros
TiVo has a long storied history, and at one point was considered to be one of the best companies ever to come out of Silicon Valley. It's located in San Jose with convenient access for commuters coming from all directions, and coming via all types of transportation (light rail, CALtrain, etc). There are a enough amenities on campus to make life convenient enough for the average techie (on site carwash, dry cleaning, cafe vendors, basketball court, volleyball court, etc). Overall the facilities may not be Google, but there are worse places to have to show up to everyday.
Cons
THE PEOPLE...the company is riddled with internal politics and cliques. Many people would consider it as the "old guard" versus the "new guard." The main concern is the old guard is upper management and hell bent on doing things a certain way even though it can be proven to be incorrect. Old allegiances and partnerships have bloated the bottom line with vendors who "know a guy," and they continually leach the energy out of the younger talent.
