The work itself: I am an average guy, but the amount of manual labor that I have had to do is intense. My biggest issue is the fact that there were very small girls working side by side with me, being asked to lift almost half their weight several hours a day! It is not a safe workplace. When you get hired they ask if you can lift 50lbs, what they fail to tell you is that you will do that every hour of your day since you are also expected to help customers load their cars.
Career Path: job titles are arbitrary and mean different things from one store to another. So there are NO job descriptions, which makes yearly reviews incredibly confusing because you never know what you will be measured against.
Upper management: Has little to no idea about the struggles and management style of the store, and makes blanket decisions that should fix everything in their eyes. Notorious for condoning store level management's behavior.
Store Manager: The Restaurant Store is an extremely stressful place to work if you are not used to being treated with very little respect at a moment's notice, and even though the behavior is not ok, it is treated as normal and rarely addressed.
