Pros

I've worked for a number of organizations in the past, most for several years at a time and never experienced the challenging, collegial atmosphere that The Recorder affords me. I've been with the organization for nearly ten years now and find the work as interesting as ever. The job has changed over the years reflecting the changes that media companies have all experienced over that same time. Management has not remained stagnant in the face of these changes and as a result we have a company that is healthy and growing. Most significant to my happiness here is working with many first class people who also call The Recorder their home. If I have a question about virtually anything there is always someone willing to help — all I have to do is reach out. In large part the feeling of satisfaction in my job comes from the knowledge that I have found a solution to a particular situation. What inspires me most though is the care that management takes to inspire us all to achieve at the highest levels. My superiors are never condescending or demeaning the way past employers have been. Seeing bosses working as earnestly as I do really helps me put forth my best effort every day.

Cons

Pros

If I could base this review on co workers alone I would give it a 5 star rating but that's just a fools fantasy. It's strange because there are a lot of of good people with brilliant minds along with amazing writers there settling for %#$!@.

Cons

You will have to train yourself because everyone is way too busy wearing 5 different hats to stay afloat. Nobody has time to help you understand the daily processes or protocol. Its all about learning the hard way. Debbie Downer runs the place with a bad attitude and superiority complex. And brush up on playing guessing game to figure out what they want management wants you to do because its going to change by noon and again at 1 then 2 and so on. I was honestly amazed that they were able to slap together a crappy publication that nobody reads to run every week.
