Pros

I have been with The RealReal for almost 6 months now and LOVE working for this company. I felt compelled to write a review because after reading all the negative ones here, I was nervous about joining. But boy am I glad I did. It's clear to me now, that these reviews are a typical case of disgruntled employees with little validity to their complaints. The RealReal is an exciting company that really encourages innovative thinking and bringing new ideas to the table. Even more impressive is how surprisingly fast and supportive they are at actually implementing those ideas. It really makes you appreciate being part of a start-up that is striving for excellence and is definitely on the verge of something HUGE. In addition, they are always looking at improving on the small things too. They offer their staff free weekly lunches and treats (ice cream truck, cupcakes, etc), free shuttle services from the office and best of all for me, they just significantly increased vacation days across the company.

Cons

As is the case with any start-up, there will be some changes implemented as we grow and need to scale all the existing processes. But everyone is on board in spirit and working towards the same goals.

Pros

Pay and commission can be good, but the structure is unnecessarily convoluted and not as generous as it seems, and you will have no work/life balance if you want to actually make consistently high commission. If you have a true passion for luxury and fashion, you do get a lot of opportunities to handle and interact with special/rare items, and depending on store location you can meet a lot of interesting industry people and celebrities, especially during Fashion Weeks

Cons

Poor and unsupportive management with extremely unrealistic demands and expectations; you will get virtually no training, but are immediately expected to know how to do everything. The overall company culture is just unpleasant and very cliquey, and there's constant employee turnover. The online customer service system is terrible, so you will frequently have to handle customer issues that have nothing to do with you/your sales.
