Pros

Interesting objects, fun shops, above average pay. Hosts are nice. Lots of different positions, keeps the day interesting.

Cons

Management act very inappropriately, not following due process and show clear favouritism. Upper management oblivious to certain staff members inappropriate behaviour or are willfully ignorant. Front of house teams needs are ignored, opportunities are are a fallacy and staff members are manipulated and used without fair pay to reflect the amount of work they have to do.

Pros

Open and receptive leadership, values driven and ambitious. I worked at the museum for 4 years, including the challenges of COVID-19 closures, and it was absolutely my favourite place I have worked. The teams are collaborative, the leadership supportive and there's lots of opportunities provided for personal development.

Cons

I don't have any - I genuinely loved my time here.

Pros

Most members of staff are committed but morale is so low at present. I formed some lasting friendships here and became active in my union because of the conditions.

Cons

I worked directly with the CEO and was appalled by what I saw. There is such a lack of respect for staff and unions. Several reports of her bullying were ignored, and she initiated a witch-hunt instead. She openly joked about firing people and lots of staff left due to the awful working conditions. She also swore in the workplace on several occasions in my presence and I’m no prude but felt that was so unprofessional. There’s no appreciation of staff and all they do. Too busy posting unfunny memes and sucking up on Twitter for that. I don’t know what causes her unpleasant nature but she never seemed happy and I assume something is lacking. The main thing missing that’s needed in the workplace is respect and business acumen. It needs to be implemented immediately as a matter of urgency!
