Pros

- OutCast has some of the best clients around, both in name recognition and the client/agency relationship. On most accounts, I was regularly impressed with the level of partnership between parties. - The people of OutCast are some of the smartest, most passionate folks I've had the pleasure of working with. I was regularly inspired by my colleagues to think outside the box and pursue industries that I was passionate about myself. - At least compared to other agencies, OutCast has great benefits. PTO, monthly lunches, office snacks and awesome culture club events. - OutCast's leadership is second to none. The team, led by CEO Alex Constantinople, are PR household names and are so great to work for. They have a great evaluation process for new business that makes sure new clients always align with their values and the values of the agency.

Cons

- Between Slack + email, OutCast has a pretty bad "always on" culture. This can be worse if you are working on a large, demanding account. - Yearly promotion schedule pits similar-stage employees against each other for sake of promotions. Fosters an overly competitive environment. - High rate of turnover at early and mid stage positions, which is true at any agency. Felt like the "work horse" employees were routinely taken advantage of by more well-liked managers.

Pros

- Exposure to big-name clients and industry giants. Many employees take in-house roles at well-known tech companies after working here.

Cons

- Toxic, cliquey workplace culture. Those that have been at Outcast long are shown a lot of favoritism. - No work-life balance. Expect extremely long hours. You will need to justify signing off or stepping away from your desk if you have any kind of life outside of work. You will be expected to sign on early in the morning or late at night for needier clients who have immediate access to you via Slack. Expect to work even if you’re on PTO. - Employees are encouraged to “snitch” on one another. - Accounts are improperly staffed and expectations are not clearly laid out. - Managers offer conflicting advice and speak poorly of one another. - Members of the leadership team that are notoriously hot-headed and hard to please are both feared and rewarded.
