Pros

Coworkers are very friendly and make you feel welcome right off the bat. The managers are nice and helpful as far as training, reward, recognition and encouragement. The pay is pretty good (including mileage reimbursement) with opportunity to cushion your salary with great incentives.

Cons

Refer to review title!! I absolutely loved my job and my team at The Journal until I had to leave. I worked for a short period of time and the day I gave them respectful notice of leaving, they put me down and embarrassed me on the way out. The turnover rate in my position was high and I understand why.

Pros

Great coworkers, patient and understanding higher ups who weren't afraid to chip in and get their hands dirty when we were short on staff, exciting and fun newsroom atmosphere, laidback attire

Cons

Often feel like we weren't getting paid nearly enough for how hard we worked, hours can lead to burn out, and some of the people that we worked with for the sister newspapers were questionable
