Pros
The internship program itself seems to be run fairly well. Lots of speakers and opportunities to meet higher ups / managers.
Cons
While I was only an intern, still expected far more structure than I received. I was here for 10 weeks and left with 0 knowledge of the underwriting field. My time here was utilized sorting through pieces of excel data that did not even end up getting used by anyone, a complete waste of time. The project I worked on with my intern group was nothing related to underwriting or insurance, rather customer service, also a complete waste of time. Managers here are lazy and do not have any interest in the future of the insurance industry. They spend their whole day looking busy and ignoring everyone around them. Not a friendly environment like they hope to be. Not to mention the office itself is out dated and feels depressing to work in everyday.
