Pros
The offices are new and spacious. The counselors truly care about the clients and put in their best effort.
Cons
I left the Counseling Center due to toxic work environment. The supervisors do a poor job of providing support to counselors, those that speak up are ignored or reprimanded. There is a lack of oversight by corporate. There has been a lot of counselor turnover, the worst part about that is the affect this must have on the clients, some of whom had to change counselors 2 or 3 times. The clients are not the first priority here –making money is – so the management will often turn to acts that are ethically questionable to keep their business running. For example, they will keep clients way beyond their need for treatment because they are making money off them. Furthermore, there appears to be a lack of professionalism, as supervisors have been observed gossiping with clients, forging paperwork, and scheduling sessions they do not show up to. Paid time off is slim and there are no sick days. I did enjoy working in this field, however I do not recommend working here.
