Pros

Working at Home. Got to wear pajamas to work.

Cons

Having worked for a different pest control company and having been in the in-person customer service field for almost ten years, I came into this at-home roll with shining stars in my eyes. The month long training was fine. The instructor I had was actually very knowledgable even though he himself said he had never been in the customer care department, nor the sales before. I started working the phones after the month long training and within the first two days, I came across my first cursing/yelling customer. I shrugged them off as "Everyone has a bad day." The months rolled by and the volume of angry customers continued to grow as Terminix kept increasing my call volumes. After about two full months of being on the phone full-time with no breaks in between calls and supervisors whiping at my back for taking an extra ten seconds on my two fifteen minute breaks, I began to see the cracks in the system. My performance was in the top three of my team of almost twenty and I exceeded all their metric by far. But I literal had to beg customer to let an inspector into their homes via the CTV leads, and I almost felt like I was swindling customer into letting the "Car Sales Man" into their homes. I literally had a lady tell me that an inspector came to their home, walked in to the living room without permission, and then refused to leave because he needed the money from their purchase. I could hear the desperation in the customers voice to be released from the contracts and they used to beg me to waive the Early Termination Fees because they couldn't afford that and their rent. I came to feel like I was part of a machine that was designed to steal money and perform minimal services. The majority of customer would say technicians never showed up, they couldn't get ahold of a manager, or that they literally watched the tech pull up and sit in the truck for fifteen minutes before driving away and then sending them the bill for a full service. Terminix by far is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. I took the job because of a back issue that limits my ability to perform laborious work and I came to regret it. Their pay is sub-par, the supervisors never answered my pleas for help with angry customers, and they refused to allow me to cancel the insurance they set up for me after only being employed for 30 days or so. Too top it off, I have still yet to hear back from anyone about sending in the computer they issued me. Talk about being behind the ball on everything that doesn't involve stealing customers money. Stay away for Terminix at all costs!
