Pros
- Amazing people: some of the most intelligent, humble, curious, and collaborative people I've ever worked with
- Exciting product: team is trying to build AI that can see, hear, and interact with the world around it, and become the industry leader in this nascent space
- Transparent and meritocratic with growth opportunities: Leadership trusts the team and shares more context than many other companies, and provides opportunities for people to share their thoughts, take ownership, and grow. Very refreshing compared to the sea of companies that practice excessive micro-management and don't believe in transparency.
- Good comp, better benefits: For an SF-based startup, pay is good and benefits are surprisingly good :o
Cons
Tavus is an earlier-stage startup in a nascent fast-moving space, so:
- It's not great if you prefer a 9-5, "clock-in, clock-out", or "staying with your on-paper responsibilities" type of job
- Things will be more ambiguous, move quickly, and there'll always be more to do. It's better than at most startups, but some people will prefer more structured environments and roles.
