Pros
Smart people to work with. The technology was good, and involved developing its own search engine, including crawlers, data storage and linguistics modelling.
Cons
The management team that took over after Mr. Ives tenure was less than ideal. They failed to appreciate the complexity of a product, and most importantly they failed to estimate the usage pattern of app users. App users generally used Taptu's solution for a week at most. Version bumps were good for increasing users, but overall didn't make the company survive.
