It's all very old. Machining centres are 60 or more years old and everything is a bit threadbare and breaking down. Massive staff turnover - must be over 50% per year and at every level. Working practices are inefficient - very manual involving endless copying of the same data. Staff get sucked in as trainees and then held for years by the training contract and kept on modest wages. Many of the leavers have had to find huge sums to be able to escape.
