Pros
The only positive from working at TOMIA was the employees that I worked with. I made some good friends that I intend to keep in contact with going forward.
Cons
Upper Management does not care about the employees at all. They're not afraid to let anyone go if it helps their profit margins. During 2019, they skipped 2 quarters of All-Hands meetings. At the next all meeting in Fall, they had let 5 people go right before the meeting. Then when asked if we can expect more people to be let go, the CEO replied "Changes are going to happen and you need to be prepared". So by the end of 2019, they had let about 20 people go. They plan to liquidate the US office and off-shore most of the jobs to India. This is evident by the list of hirings during 2019. 90% of new hires were from the India office. TOMIA is a good place to get some SQL and AWS experience and for about a year, but after that it's best to find places that treat employees better as well as have competitive pay salaries. Also, because the nature of the job, they'll frequently have you work weekend because that's the off-time for a client's production environment. But they don't offer over-time or any other compensation. So many employees work over 60 hours a week without recognition/compensation.
