The job fulfillment you get is based on the level of effort you put in. It can be very rewarding. Wouldn’t recommend to someone wanting to passively collect a paycheck.
Cons
Work travel: can be a lot
Physical work: good amount of hands-on work onsite/in office. Could be a con for some, but a plus for those who like to get down and dirty.
Overtime/on-call: you would have to manage this yourself, to avoid getting burned out. No one will force you to do anything.
Onsite: could run into bad apples along the way, but the managers of this company will have your back
