Pros
Despite the incapable management, the team sticks together and creates a pleasant working atmosphere. You will learn to be more political, many times you will feel like you work in the European Parliament. Implementation of new database technologies.
Cons
BI is run as a finance department. You will be stuck in an endless loop of reconciliation. (Especially interns and new joiners. May the force be with you.) Old technologies you've probably haven't heard of are still very prevalent and their decommissioning is not on sight. Don't get fooled by fancy words. Interns and contractors are hired based on their looks and ability to entertain the immediate management and are often targets of inappropriate behaviors. The priorities are nonsensically being changed multiple times a day - that ultimately leads to frustration and giving up on using your brain entirely. There is no strategic understanding of how to move BI to the next level due to the lack of management and IT skills of the leadership. Overall, a very old-fashioned company with old ways of working. The good news is that things are changing but at a very slow pace.
