Pros

401A contribution. Paid for CFP. Decent salary for ultra-minimal required skill set. Great place holder to pay the bills until 'the package' was offered and promptly accepted. Many good colleagues, but with under-utilized skills. Some cool middle managers. Not accountable to shareholders for public financial scrutiny. They got us pizza once in awhile.

Cons

Super-revolving door of sr. executives over the years which is comical when viewed end to end. Larger silos than the Parthenon. Nepotism and cronyism filling the ranks of middle, sr., and executive management. So poorly run they are hemorrhaging money which is being scooped up wholesale by other FS firms. More directors with no reports than any other FS company. Toxic DEI/woke obsessed culture crippling the progress and profitability of the company. A CEO who is a pale shadow of the former with respect to economic & financial market knowledge, leadership abilities, and oratory skills.

Pros

Great work life balance, good benefits, decent pay, ease of running your own practice as an “advisor”, and healthy work environment

Cons

Management styles can vary and affect your experience, upper management doesn’t seem to be well equipped to ensure the organization’s success but it is resilient nonetheless.

Pros

Compensation is great for advisors once they are promoted to VP. Everyone else has to wait a year and hope for a good rating that's more of a game than merit based

Cons

Woke culture, reverse discrimination, very frustrating to do business with as a client
