Cons

Where do I start!? I guess I should start with the common theme amongst many of the reviews. Management. My experience of the management is that managers are often friends or family of higher ups. This naturally leads to many inexperienced managers who run round like headless chickens who don’t know how to manage for the long term and only the short term. Take development as an example. When you first start you will be “forced” to complete a personal development plan (PDP) which then no one does anything with even when you chase and repeat your ambitions multiple times. To get an ahead at THG you literally have to be family/“bffs” or else you don’t stand a chance. They don’t care how skilled or how many awards, your results you achieve by working there. They just don’t simply care about your development unless you are in the inner circle. Matt Moulding seems to create a culture of THG vs the World (It feels like this) and the reality is ingenuity is an amazing service and has immense potential to be the UK’s biggest business (Yes, really). This cannot happen under current management. Often businesses change CEO’s often. This is for a reason. Change is a must, from everywhere. From not only operations and people, but management as well. It is true what people say you do learn a lot and THG changes a lot, but for THG to truly survive they need a complete and utter overhaul haul of management from the very top to the very bottom. This will never happen because Matt and his buddies don’t want this change, only to constantly change everything else in the hope of slight growth improvements.

Pros

Nice coworkers. Hybrid office policy.

Cons

Absolutely no leadership or direction. There is a so called “SLT” who are meant to be the leaders which is a joke. The “President” who they shipped over from the UK is an ego maniac who over promises and under delivers and has no issue firing people at the drop of a dime. Priorities are never clear and strategy changes every single day. Somehow it always ends up being the fault of the staff while leadership takes 0 accountability. Oh and they cite a bonus structure in all contracts which is a lie because I don’t know of a single person who has received a bonus.
