Pros
- Compensation - High profit margin business so has the resources to invest - People outside the USA headquarters work hard and care - Good training ground for the competition who continue to pick up really good people that TE "hired and fired" so quickly.
Cons
- Some of the TE senior leaders seem schizophrenic (those that are still there): They're constantly reorganizing--5 times in two of the years I was there. - They are quick to fire even long-term leaders who surly must have had trouble keeping up with the businesses they run because of the constant reorgs. - When I was there, TE was investing in a lot of growth businesses or buying businesses. After a short period of time, when things were not moving at a pace the CEO wanted, he would arbitrarily cut them from the business including all the people. They seemed like knee-jerk reactions as the plugs were pulled so fast. This is also what drove a lot of the reorgs. - There was a strategic planning department, but they seemed disconnected from the business. They mainly focused on M&A--again giving an illusion of growth. - Finance couldn't give me good numbers for my budget actual spend because they were constantly reworking the books to accommodate the latest reorg. - I never understood why the Board of Directors doesn't look at the top leadership team and make changes when this same team is constantly churning the people and the org structure below them to give the illusion of progress. Look at the sales and stock price over the last 5-7 years! Why is this top leadership team still in place?
