Pros

Unlimited PTO, salary, flexibility of working from home

Cons

I've been with the company over 3 years and have seen A LOT of people come and go. It's certainly not like the good old days. I can almost pinpoint things started changing when my colleague left to spend time with his baby. It makes me sad and uneasy with all the releases on what that means for my position. Some of the decisions don't make sense in why we are getting rid of certain positions. It feels like we have NO CONTROL over our product, we let a potential customer control what we do. In the past all news (good or bad) was relayed in townhall meetings but now it seems like the CEO and the sales team sugar coat everything. We hear all the time of how we had a "great conversation" with someone but it never amounts to actual business so it feels like they are delivering empty promises.

Pros

Strong, compassionate leadership from an executive team that has done it before and is incredibly generous with their time Impactful mission than can cut through tough times and challenges and make your work feel incredibly important Tight knit, diverse workforce not afraid to roll up their sleeves and work together to solve tough problems Respect for employees by providing the flexibility they need to live their lives, and work effectively. True work life balance. Opportunity for those who seek it

Cons

Great company, but some constructive criticism: Decisions could be made faster, but the leadership team is actively investing in improving this The market is rapidly evolving, and the company’s ears are definitely wide open to learn. Yet, this evolution is tough to communicate and sometimes it can spur confusion. A passionate, customer focused culture is great, but can sometimes lead to us saying “yes” too much. Everyone across he company needs to take the iniative to evangelize the vision and stick with it.

Pros

I've been at TAV for close to two years on the engineering team and it's been the best job, team, and coworkers I've ever had. The senior engineers/architect are so helpful and patient, they want you to learn and grow. At my EOY review I was asked what I wanted to do in the next year and to my surprise they immediately had me working on things I expressed interest in. The team is goofy, fun, and tight knit. I genuinely enjoy going to work. Overall pros: Unlimited PTO Ability to wfh or remote locations

Cons

Since the product is relatively new there are times where you have to work late nights and weekends in order to meet deadlines. However, there's been few times I thought it was unfair that I had to work outside of normal hours. They preach 'Freedom and Responsibility' and I believe that to be true for the engineering team. You can leave early, come late, etc but if there's a week when things need to get done you have to pull through for the team and the company. Product Management doesn't seem to have full control over the roadmap and direction of the product. Clients have far to much say and have completely changed our roadmap before. This can be frustrating having to shelf weeks of work to focus on some specific feature that is for one client only. It can feel more like a consulting service rather than a SAAS company at times.
