Beware: they expect you to translate at the speed of 500 w per hour. First, you agree to be paid by the hour, sign the contract, and then when it's time for the payment, they 'kindly' inform you that the client expects you to translate 500 w/hour; they take the total of words you translated in a given time period, divide that by 500, and voila, that's their perception of the time you spent on translations. It doesn't matter that their platform clearly shows how much time you spend working on the document. If your average translation speed is 300 w/h, which is a normal hourly output - well, tough! You're obviously too slow for them. So if you spend 8 hours translating a 2500 w document, they'll divide 2500 by 500 and say that's just 5 hours worth of translation and will compensate you for the five hours only. Oh, they'll tell you that when it's time for your first payment, mind you, not before you even start with translation. By the way, the time recorded on their platform (for example, 8 hours for a 2500 word doc) records only the time you actually spend typing the words on the platform itself, forget about the time you spend on research. Never in my life have I seen this kind of disrespect. If you decide to work for them anyway, raise your hourly rate by 30 % so the compensation will at least be somewhere along the line of fair pay.
