Poor culture, management, and weak leadership - Anonymous employee Switcher (Ireland) Employee Review

My time at Switcher.ie was one of the most soul destroying experiences of my life. This was mostly due to the MD, who is a bully and has a huge ego for someone leading a miniscule operation. Some of the worst parts of working for this business: - Speaking to one another while in the office was highly discouraged due to "distraction". This led to many days sitting in silence for 7-8 hours at a time. - The MD plays favourites in a bit way, and would also hit on one of my colleagues consistently, which was gross to witness and highly inappropriate. - As mentioned in another review, it was impossible to get anything right if the MD decided he wanted to pick on you. To quote the man himself, "I'm going to move the goalposts, it's up to you to figure out where they're going to be". - There was no effort put into mentorship, development, or basic support of staff. Unless you're attractive to the MD in which case you'll get what more attention, which is even worse. In all, my time here was a poor experience working in a culture that allowed a bully to run riot.
