Pros

ESOP! Team-Oriented Leadership - I feel like a valued part of a team. Good solid product lines. Overall it's the talented employees who work together that make Garland Surface Protection a great place to work.

Cons

It feels like there's not enough hours in the day to accomplish all that needs to be done. This could be alleviated with more people (so I encourage you... come to Garland)!

Pros

ESOP program is the only real pro but it doesn’t help anyone in their current situation

Cons

Surface Shields has really switched gears in the direction they are heading in. Employee moral is down significantly and either management doesn’t notice or they don’t care, either way it’s an issue when your employees are not happy. It has become a rather stressful environment to be apart of on top of an already rather stressful time living through a pandemic. It would be nice if we were able to communicate with management on our thoughts and ideas which could minimize the micromanaging going on, because that certainly isn’t making matters any better. One suggestion would be is that upper management meet with all employees to go over issues and any concerns they have. Many people don’t feel comfortable going to upper management out of the blue and discussing issues because they are fearful for their jobs and feel they will be singled out if cuts need to be made. Another suggestion would be to let employees go home early the day before a holiday. Business has to be give and take and sometimes you need to give to your employees. This small token of appreciation towards employees would go a long way. It would be nice to have an incentive programs that we could works towards bonuses as well, I think doing a monthly or quarterly program would have huge success because it would constantly keep us focused on goals whereas if you do It annually focus could be shifted and loose momentum. We know that this year especially has been a challenge but it’s important to show employees that they are valued and not to loose focus on the people that make this company what it is.

I completely agree that challenges around Covid-19 have added some stress to our personal lives and the workplace this year. I'd also like to SHOUT OUT that management cares very much about employee satisfaction and have programs in place to monitor and enhance team member engagement. If you have taken your concerns to your immediate supervisor and still feel frustrated, then I encourage you to bring your concerns directly to me or HR. Thanks for including some specific suggestions in your review; these ideas will be considered.
