Pros
Staff is talented, dedicated, and innovative. They are in this for the right reason and want to enact real change. They work hard with what they have and are ambitious are trying to change lives
Cons
Unfortunately, this talented staff is let down by incompetent leadership. The Executive Director is more concerned with appealing to the board than actually making any change and cannot see the value in anyone's opinion that doesn't match her own. The Chief Program Officer is nepotism incarnate, unfit for her job and doesn't know how to manage other people. Additionally, this organization falls victim to the usual issues of non profits: they talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. For all of their language about developing talent and employees, there is no investment and due to poor management, no time to actually develop. Additionally management cannot take any criticism and would rather dig in their heels than actually make any meaningful change. They pay poorly despite the executive director making well over six figures, and refuse to be transparent at all about their pay structure, despite numerous and persistent requests from team members.
