Interesting work projects and assignments. Colleagues were friendly and engaging and willing to help when needed.

Very little communication from higher ups in the company made its way to my level. Direct manager did little to no managing, leaving many initiatives partially finished and poorly executed. Specs were poorly communicated leaving developers to make decisions for themselves, only to find the higher ups didn't like how things turned out in the end,

Nice people, interesting technology, lots of autonomy. It's great being part of a company in a really fascinating industry - our technology keeps people safe at sea, reduces emissions and saves our clients money!

Flat structure means that there haven't been opportunities to move up but this does seem to be changing.
