Pros
Pros: 1) Flexible Schedule that you coordinate you and client's availability. 2)You are able to work a seven day work week if you choose and client's are available to be seen. 3)You're able to see mental health growth and client's and their families. 4) Paid holidays : If you work a Paid holiday, you receive paid holiday pay as well as your income for billable units for seeing clients on this date/time. 5)PTO; accumulation and carryover. You can accumulate PTO and carry it over into the next calendar year if unused. 6) You are paid by units billed and you're not SALARIED. therefore, if you have great time management skills, in demand due to being clinically professional and work well with clients face to face: this is a GREAT opportunity for you. It's not a 9-5 job!
Cons
Cons: 1) There's a plethora of paperwork, documentation that is due within 24 hours of seeing clients (this is pretty much standard in the Mental health field regardless of the agency) 2) You use you own vehicle/rising cost of Gas; However, the company provides a percentage of gas stipend income reimbursement 2xs monthly. 3) As a QMHP-C, you are paid strictly on units billed (i.e. this is NOT a salaried position....which has it;s benefits because your salary is NOT Capped. However, if you're not working, you're NOT getting paid.
