Demanding Role with Poor Leadership and Toxic Culture - Area Manager Stord Employee Review

Pros

Salary, Unlimited PTO (upon approval from manager)-often rejected.

Cons

Leadership is highly unstable and often unprofessional. There’s a noticeable lack of transparency and integrity — management may appear friendly, but internal gossip and backchannel conversations are common. Rather than setting employees up for success, the environment often feels structured to ensure failure, especially if you’re not in the inner circle. As an Area Manager, expect to work anywhere from 13 to 16 hours a day with little regard for work-life balance.

Pros

The management team is supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in employee success. The culture is collaborative, inclusive, and encourages open communication at all levels. My colleagues are talented, motivated, and always willing to collaborate. Overall, it’s a place where you feel valued, challenged, and inspired to grow.

Cons

I don't have any cons to report.

Pros

I advanced quickly at Stord

Cons

One of the most toxic places I've ever worked. People who work hard and want to do things right are fired. People who fudge numbers and manipulate inventory to keep management and clients happy are kept. LAS3 has so much missing inventory it's ridiculous. It's also acceptable to yell at associates, be disrespectful, and tell people they'll be fired on daily basis. Leads are rude and disrespectful and wear inappropriate clothes to work while associates are told they can't wear tank tops in a warehouse that isn't very climate controlled in the middle of the desert.
