Pros

This is my first contract through Steyer and, so far, I think they're great. They provide all the usual support (laptop, client communications, benefits) but they also go beyond the usual. I once forgot to fill out my timesheet before I left for a vacation in a place with no internet or cell service. Before I was out of cell range, I texted them about it and they took care of it all for me. And this was after hours on a Friday evening!

Cons

Can't think of any cons at the moment.

Pros

Steyer has been an incredibly collaborative and thoughtful place to grow my career. I’ve had the opportunity to work on high-impact projects with major enterprise clients, partner closely with smart and supportive leadership, and continue expanding both my strategic and creative skill sets. One thing I especially appreciate is the level of trust and ownership given to employees. Leadership genuinely invests in people’s growth, creates opportunities to take on meaningful work, and is receptive to new ideas and perspectives. I’ve been encouraged to stretch into larger responsibilities, work cross-functionally, and contribute beyond the boundaries of a traditional role. The culture is professional but highly human — people are collaborative, communicative, and willing to help each other succeed. There’s a strong emphasis on thoughtful work, quality output, and building long-term relationships with both clients and team members. For anyone looking for an environment where they can grow, contribute meaningfully, and work alongside talented people on complex projects, Steyer is a great place to be.

Cons

As the company continues to grow, there are still opportunities to further standardize certain internal processes and systems. Additionally, because Steyer supports a wide range of clients and industries, experiences can vary somewhat depending on account placement and project type.

Pros

Steyer was my first foray into freelancing and I could not have asked for a better experience. I was impressed with the very human approach they had to work, the emotional intelligence and kindness of leadership, and their ambitious growth mindset. They work to give PMs tools to grow channels and improve workflows, as well as engage in professional development. For their freelancers, they give clear instructions and expectations and more training than I would have expected, which is the key to success and shows long-term and realistic thinking. The pay was fair and expectations were clear and achievable. Overall, it was a delight working for Steyer and I was genuinely bummed to leave for another opportunity. If I'm ever inclined to go back to freelancing, Steyer is where I'll go first. I was also extremely impressed with the effort they put into learning about how to effectively and sustainably use AI (as that's basically being forced on everyone in professional services), but not to produce content and thus rob human writers and editors of their jobs. They are approaching it with wisdom and practicality rather than jumping on a hot bandwagon. That proves maturity rather than caprice.

Cons

The only real con was that I was unable to get going full-time.
