BEWARE FRAUDULENT GLASSDOOR POSTINGS - during my tenure, the HR staff actually had the gall to encourage staff to get on Glassdoor and input positive reviews, then would get entered into a raffle! Outrageous but true, I know!! Please read further for an HONEST review
Benefits AWFUL - $400/year 401k match is a joke! Insurance is pitiful. Believe ownership owns the insurance company, as you will have nothing but problems with insurance. Was declined for a medicine before, also declined any help on a treatment I underwent. It was all paid out of pocket like I didn’t have insurance! Sick time accrued 4 days/year. Vacation awful too, 8 days/year until you’re there for 3 years.
Ownership - doesn’t care about anyone no matter how long you work there, only $.
Short staffed in every department - every single department is understaffed, all the drivers and staff know it. Again, all about the $. This creates a ton of stress for all those involved, except ownership of course.
Loyalty - nonexistent at Stevens unless you’re a driver. For drivers you could literally take a month off with no contact and Stevens would take you back. This is ONLY due to their horrendous pay and thus inability to attract drivers, so they hold on tight to whatever drivers they manage to persuade to join.
Work life balance - full time is 42.5 hours/week and some weekends. Overtime and even working off the clock is encouraged, this company does some serious, borderline illegal things to save a $
Culture - management is toxic. Rarely IF EVER will you be encouraged or recognized for your efforts, instead, you will just be berated and told to work harder. If you suggest something and it costs any $ whatsoever, you will be ignored.
Career opportunities - none really, unless you want to work 60-80 hours/week in management role. Otherwise you will make tops $50k/year if you’re lucky and talented enough.
Bottom line - I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. Employment there will stress you out to the max. 99% of other companies will provide you much better benefits, a decent culture, and work life balance.
