Pros
- A Genuine family-first mentality. The founding executives are always there for their employees, and do a good job of being transparent.
- The product owners care passionately about what they're building, and the application's diverse functionality is truly astonishing.
- The engineering team is slim but provide exceptional output, and are genuinely good and caring people to work with.
- There is an opportunity to learn so much, achieve a great deal of personal development, and dive into a lot of really interesting initiatives.
- It's a fun company with that offers competitive salaries and comprehensive health benefits.
- The company are targeting exponential growth while keeping overheads down, especially during the pandemic, which gives the company a stable outlook.
Cons
- As a mature start-up, there is a need to keep the team fast and slim, while satisfying a lot of internal and external expectations. This can lead to a lot of pressure to succeed, even when the path forward is not necessarily clear. However this is not that unusual for a technology company, so it's not necessarily a con, but it can be alarming when employees that aren't performing to expectation aren't retained (not necessarily a con either).
- The company could really use more admin/HR staff to streamline day-to-day employee needs, but I think this was in the pipeline when I left.
