Pros
The analyst role and experience is extremely varied based on the practice and specific team you work with. If you work with great people, your experience will be positive, but it could also be the opposite. As an entry level person, you will have a lot of exposure to very senior people internally and externally which is great. Overall, hierarchy is pretty flat which is nice. Once you gain the trust of your team, you have a lot of autonomy and can have the ability to directly interact with senior executives.
Cons
The promotion process is very varied by team and also there isn't a lot of transparency in what KPIs you need to hit in order to be promoted. It is more about who is rooting for you within the firm and their seniority versus your individual performance. Internal politics are huge and those who use that to their advantage will succeed.
