Pros

Great building/facilities. Great people. Very friendly. Small enough where everyone (nearly) knows everybody else's name. Lots of different tests and equipment to learn.

Cons

MD hardly there. Can take a while to go from equipment to equipment, but that depends on the individual's skills/capability.

Pros

Gain laboratory experience. Some nice staff members.

Cons

Below average pay with negligible annual pay rises. Poor pension scheme. No benefits above the bare minimum you would expect from any company. Non-existent career progression. Staff are treated like children. There is no trust or respect from management who regularly exhibit toxic behaviours, including favouritism, bullying, and micromanagement. Managers and supervisors have actually been heard insulting the appearances of staff members. Work here if you are desperate for laboratory experience and don't mind a stressful, highly unprofessional environment.

Pros

Some good instruments in the lab. Canteen and building is nice. No problems parking. Good place to get experience in first laboratory job. When you walk out of the building you leave your work with you. No stress of work for the next day and working in evenings at home etc.

Cons

Absolutely zero interaction between owners and staff. Director would walk past you and not even say hello. Huge gap between pay and respect of technicians and managers. Bad favouritism problems with in the company and a bully culture. Meaning that people kiss up to supervisors and can avoid work. There is no clear progression strategy to be promoted, purely done on if they like you. Working late shift or weekends. No sick leave means that people phone up when can’t be bothered to come into work.
