Hi There, I am sorry to read that you felt this way. Letting a person go, especially when he is actively "working" on a project is a decision that has far reaching financial and professional impact for us as an organisation. So, such decisions cannot be taken due to "political" motivations. You know ours is a relatively flat organisation and the implication of politics is utterly baseless and untrue.
