Pros
I have learned a tremendous amount with Sound in the past year about the business of medicine. Our hospital has improved all metrics since they began managing us, and the quality of our care improved as well. They have a pathway to partnership, and many opportunities to participate in leadership building seminars (Crucial Conversations, Emerging Leaders, etc.). Their platform allows tracking of all those "numbers" doctors want, you know, the ones that make administrators get a glazed look? Those are readily accessible and transparent. Even the CEO is personable, down-to-earth and friendly, and responds personally to my emails. His vision for the company is catching.
Cons
The only cons to my job involve the constraints with the contract Sound has with my hospital. Staffing is based on daily 7am census rather than encounters seen, and that is a challenge when staffing up.
